It is said that progressing slowly does not know when to get success, in the same way, to bring a new revolution in the digital age, the Indian Government (Narendra Modi) on 2nd August 2021 at 4:15 pm through video conferencing e-RUPI introduced to the people.
3 Departments of India collaborated to make this payment method: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, National Health Authority and Department of Financial Services of India.
The main aim of this payment method is to promote the digital method.
What is e-RUPI?
e-RUPI is a cashless and contactless medium for digital payment. It is an electronic voucher based digital payment system that will be delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries in the form of a QR code or SMS string.
e-RUPI Payment Gateway was launched on 2nd August 2021 at 4:30 pm via video conference and Narendra Modi through Twitter handle, E-RUPI Digital, which promotes a new energy and digital age for India.

How does e-RUPI work?
e-RUPI will connect the sponsors of the service with the beneficiaries and service providers in a digital manner without any physical interface.
The users will be able to redeem the voucher without a card, digital payments app or internet banking access, at the service provider.

No, e-RUPI is closer to a voucher-based payment system that can only be used on specific goods.
