HDFC Bank Q4 FY22: HDFC Bank advances grew by 20.9% on YOY and 8.6% on QOQ in Q4 FY22

HDFC Bank shares were trading up 2.55% at Rs 1,508 today. HDFC Bank recorded good numbers in quarter 4 financial year 22 (Q4 FY22).

HDFC Bank’s advances grew by 20.9% on a year-on-year (YOY) basis and 8.6% on a quarter-on-quarter (QOQ) basis in the fourth quarter of FY22 (Q4 FY22).

HDFC Bank’s retail deposits rose by 18.5% on a year-on-year (YOY) basis and by around 6% on a quarter-on-quarter (QOQ) basis.

Rural banking and commercial credit grew 10% quarter-on-quarter and 30% year-on-year. Retail credit grew by about 15% in the period last year (March 31, 2021) and about 5% sequentially, according to the data.

The CASA (Current account and saving account) ratio of HDFC Bank also increased from 47.1% in Q3 FY22 (December 31, 2021) to a record 48% in Q4 FY22. Whereas on March 31, 2021, it was 46.1%.

HDFC Bank added 563 branches during Q4 FY22 against 5,779 branches as of December 31, 2021. The branch network grew to 6,342 at the end of Q4 FY22 against 5,608 branches as of March 31, 2021.

Bank deposits were around ₹15,59,000 crore at the end of Q4 FY22 (March 31, 2022) from ₹13,35,100 crore at the end of Q4 FY21 (March 31, 2021), an increase of about 17%.

Wholesale deposits grew 10% year-on-year, while retail deposits grew nearly 6% quarter-on-quarter and nearly 18% year-on-year.
