Mumbai, September 14 (MeelBijendra) – IndiGo’s journey began almost 17 years ago with an aircraft and a flight to Imphal via Guwahati. At the end of FY2023, IndiGo operated over 1800 daily flights covering 104 destinations with its fleet of 304 aircraft.
IndiGo’s achievement of this objective has given the company a place of reckoning in the global aviation industry. With 1800+ flights, IndiGo is ranked 7th in the world in terms of daily departures in FY23.
The company said that since the inception of IndiGo, it has been our mission to connect the vast and diverse India while supporting social cohesion, mobility and economic progress.
The company further said that with our vast network, we are literally giving wings to the country, making air travel possible in all big, medium and small cities across India. Our many first-time fliers are a true testament to this, as well as the businesses that can flourish as a result of all these connections.
Over the past few months, Indigo has worked on the existing values of the organization to achieve an objective. Building on its strong cultural foundation, the company has framed it as: ‘Giving wings to the nation by connecting people and aspirations’.
IndiGo was number one in India in terms of OTP (On Time Performance) in the last two quarters of FY23 and the company has the highest OTP in the world. The company has the largest fleet order for delivery of about 500 aircraft between fiscal 2024 and the end of the decade. IndiGo also has the youngest fleet in the world, with an average age of about 3.5 years.
Indigo says that we are India’s most preferred airline and we fully intend to maintain this position. With greater international mobility in and out of India, the company aims to expand its reach.
